Children’s views at Hayfield Lane Primary are extremely important to
us.Assuch, children have
many opportunities to share their thoughts about school issues – both formally and informally.
We have a school council wherewe involve all children in driving forward school improvement
and provide a platform for discussion related to any aspect of school life. Pupils are invited to put
themselves forward to become school councillors if theywish and then are elected to represent
their class.
Individual pupils also have the opportunity to take on responsibility roles around the school and
within their own classrooms, for example asAssemblyMonitors, Playground Leaders, Playground
Peacemakers, Foundation and Key Stage rolemodels etc.
Pupils are encouraged to identify their own individual targets related to their work, learning behaviour
, classroommanagement, attendance and interests and hobbies. These targets are regularly reviewed
and progress towards these targets is discussed.
