What Ofsted say about

both schools

The full reports can be found on the school websites:

Frithville Primary School

You have a created a harmonious school community

where pupils respect the staff and work well.

Pupils enjoy learning and attendance is good. They

are caring towards each other and demonstrate

compassion to others.

Parents speak highly of the school. All parents

who responded to Ofsted’s online questionnaire,

Parent View, felt that their child was safe and

happy at the school and that staff respond well to

any concerns they raise. Parents who spoke to the

inspector commented on how well the school meets

the needs of their child.

NewYork Primary School

You ensure that pupils benefit from a range of

experiences to enhance their learning and broaden

their horizons. For example, pupils can undertake

several residential visits during their time at New

York Primary, to areas of the country that are

divergent geographically, such as the Lake District

and the coastal town of Whitby.

Pupils throughout the school respectfully

acknowledge that several of their peers have

particular needs. They embrace the inclusive culture

you have created and support each other very well.

Parents spoke highly of the support their children

get from staff to help them succeed.

The leadership

team has maintained

the good quality

of education in the

school since the last

inspection.

Ofsted

As we observed

lessons in both classes

and looked at pupils’

books, we saw that

teachers match work

to the abilities of

pupils well.

Ofsted

School staff work well

with external agencies

to support this group of

pupils. These pupils make

strong progress from

their starting points and

are achieving.

Ofsted

Leaders have taken

effective action to raise

standards. Governors visit

regularly and ensure that

the performance management

process is robust. The quality

of teaching has improved

across all subjects,

including phonics.
