Explore key historical events in a fun, exciting and educational way

Castlewood Academy wanted a wall display that would span the history of the world and link into the school’s curriculum. It had to be full of interesting and informative historical facts. The timeline had to enagage pupils with their own local history. From the beginnings of the solar system and the world to the present day we explored key events in the world’s history in a fun, exciting and educational way. Our wall display not only provided factual and interesting information for the children but it also prompts them to ask questions and widen their understanding of history and the world. Facts from the timeline around the school got the children wondering:

‘Why did the dinosaurs dissapear?’
‘Why did the Romans invade Britain?’
‘What was life like in Victorian times for children?’

The corridor had now become a learning environment, enriching the educational experience of Castlewood’s pupils.

Historical timelines that reflect your school curriculum
