Birchwood’s school makeover continues with wall art and signage

Birchwood’s school makeover continues with wall art, timelines and signage that is truly transformational. Our wall art, timelines and signage has created new learning environments for the school. It has never been easier to get around the school with our bespoke directional signage.

Corridors, reception areas and staircases have all become exciting and interesting learning spaces. From curriculum based wall art such as science or MFL to computing and literary timelines. We create our designs based around your school’s specific requirements.

Don’t just take our word for it though. The transformational work at Birchwood was so effective in reimagining the school that it caught the attention of the local press with features by Warrington Worldwide and the Warrington Guardian. We’ve included and some snippets of the coverage Birchwood received.

The stylish changes transforming Birchwood High School

Birchwood High School has transformed during lockdown with a stylish re-brand.

While the Brock Road school has been closed to pupils since the end of March, a team of staff and contractors has been working hard to create a modern and engaging learning environment.

Outside, there is a new frontage, created with clever window wraps, and a blue and silver/grey theme continues throughout the building.

Emma Mills, head teacher at Birchwood Community High School, said: “We are very excited about our ongoing improvements to our school environment.

“We feel that our students deserve a school that is interesting, attractive and that they can be proud of.

“We know that they will love all the improvements when they return and we can’t wait for them to enjoy all the incredible artwork.”

Along with the re-brand, huge pieces of learning wall art have been installed, as well as timelines of famous authors and displays on famous mathematicians.

Birchwood High School undergoes major transformation during lockdown

BIRCHWOOD Community High School has been undergoing a major transformation during lockdown to provide a “fantastic learning environment.”

Over the last number of week’s since school closed to learners a team of staff and contractors have been working hard to transform the school, which also recently unveiled a huge mural depicting the history of the town and some famous former pupils.

Josie Evans Communication & Events Manager said: Along with our rebrand, the first thing you will see is a new frontage to school which has been created with some very cleaver window wraps. These wraps also adorn our English rooms to cut out glare and really improve the look of the exterior.

“We have taken birchwood blue and silver grey back into Birchwood to create a sophisticated feel to our corridors and classrooms with some amazing pieces of learning wall art which will really complement our curriculum.

“So far, we are nearly there with our main English corridor and classrooms with a huge timeline of authors in the corridor complemented by more detailed timelines within classrooms, plus recommendations of reading for pleasure books for learners to try.

“Our languages department love a good fiesta, so they have a gigantic bright and fun wall to echo this.

“Maths, which has moved upstairs in our main block has great displays on famous mathematicians, useful equations and a wall which will answer that old question ‘ Why do I need my maths’ and shows the wide and varied jobs that you can get with a good maths qualification!

“Still to go are redecorating and a huge piece of work in our new computing, IT and business suite.

“We hope you like our new look and we can’t wait for our students to return to see the newly improved BCHS in real life.”

Wall Art that is as unique as you are

Birchwood’s new wall displays bring classrooms and corridors together. Wall displays don’t have to be limited to the interior of your school though. Many schools have taken the educational benefits of wall displays outside. Boring bricks can become spaces for new learning opportunities.
