Stay Safe
Children at Royd understand the need for high standards of behaviour ensuring they all feel safe
in School. Royd has a very effective Anti-Bullying and Positive Behaviour Policy which is available
on our website.
All staff are trained in Child Protection and we ensure
the safeguarding of our pupils at all times. There are
several trained first aiders on the staff.
Making a Positive Contribution
We want our pupils to develop an
understanding and appreciation of other
people. The ever widening of communities
from the School to local, national and global
are rich sources of learning for our children.
We encourage them to see themselves as
having a valuable role making a positive
contribution in these communities
Throughout their time at Royd, children
have opportunities to contribute in School
by becoming play leaders, reception carers
and by undertaking a range of other roles.
They support the local community by singing
in the local church, dancing at local fetes
and bulb planting outside the local library.
The children support local and national
charities and they help to support
a child in India.
Achieve Economic Well-Being
We want your children to enter the adult
world with confidence that they can be
financially independent and enjoy their
work. Our approach to the curriculum
sustains the development of important
life skills. They have the opportunity to
see the working world through visitors
to School and take inspiration from
them.
The children develop an
understanding of finance
through a variety of
activities.
Throughout their
time at School
the children are
encouraged to
discuss, listen and
make decisions.
